Day of Action: Antwerp, BelgiumTo crown the people feels good
We enjoyed the action with the crowns. "Mammy and daddy are the Kings of Europe: they also decide!" People responded with a big smile and got in a good mood to talk. We hope our - so-called - democracy to become true, and the people we talked with as well. The most frequently heard answers to our question whether they want to vote on the EU Constitution were: "Yes, of course!", "Naturally!", "The most normal thing to do...", "Obvious!".
We were lucky to meet St. Nicholas and discussed the old, almost forgotten story about him. He saved three children from the bad host, who had thrown the childs in a barrel filled with strong salted water, where - if not saved by St. Nicholas - they would have died.
The children are symbol of innocence, of "saved souls". Today for some of us it felt like we "saved democracy", explained the truth about real democracy and referenda, and it was good to do so...
