Despite the gusts of icy wind many Berliners seized the opportunity to express, with the overwhelming majority, their support for the referendum on the EU Constitution during the Europe-wide Day of Action. Almost 89% of the voters threw a blue ball, meaning Yes for the referendum, into the transparent ballot-box on the Alexander Square. The voting stand was deliberately placed in front of the big clock showing world time zones, so that the names of the European capital cities were displayed in the background.
