Day of Action: Copenhagen, DenmarkAt work for democracy ...
The Danish event commenced at noon. We - Anne Sofie Gerstrøm, Hedvig Vestergaard, Jesper Morville and Jørgen Raffnsøe - stood at Christianshavns Square in an old part of the city of Copenhagen. The weather was sunny, but the wind-chill-factor brought the temperature well below the freezing point. The event lasted for approximately an hour. Watch the slide show!
We talked to several people and all of them expressed the concern that in some countries that wouldn't be a referendum on the draft constitution. People thanked us for our work for democracy. They took it as a matter of course that there would be a referendum on the EU Constitution.
Some of the people were worried that so many decisions nowadays were taken so far from them. In addition, living their everyday lives and performing their duties at work and at home, they feel there is not enough time to study these political issues as thoroughly as they would like.
Our parole: Democracy in the EU - only with fair referenda on the new EU Constitution in all countries involved
