Across Europe, many people feel disconnected from political decision-making. At the same time, climate change is one of the biggest — and most debated — challenges we face.
Citizens for Climate brings these two issues together.
The project strengthens democracy by promoting meaningful citizen participation in climate policy. We explore and share inspiring examples of climate assemblies, citizens’ initiatives, and other participatory tools that give people a real voice in shaping climate action.
Through interactive events across Europe, we connect citizens, civil society organisations, and policymakers. Together, we exchange experiences, develop new ideas, and learn how inclusive participation can work in different countries and communities.

A key outcome of the project is the Climate Participation Booklet — a practical guide with best practices and recommendations to support democratic climate governance across Europe.
All our activities are open, accessible, and designed to include people who are often underrepresented in political processes.
Because climate policy works best when it is shaped by the people it affects.
Citizens for Climate stands for a more democratic and sustainable Europe — built together.
