Press Conference: Europeans want to stop TTIP and CETA

Next Tuesday, 15 July, an alliance of more than 120 citizens’ organizations from all across Europe will launch a European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) with the aim of repealing the European Union’s negotiating mandate for the trade agreements TTIP and CETA.

The ECI is to send a strong message to designated Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to stop the two trade and investment agreements with the USA and Canada.

The European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) is one of the major innovations of the Treaty of Lisbon in view of strengthening participatory democracy in the EU. An ECI allows EU citizens EU citizens to call directly upon the European Commission to propose a legal. For an ECI to be successful, one million signatures are required.

The alliance cordially invites you to attend a press conference at which these members of the Citizens' Committee of the ECI will present the campaign and speak on behalf of the alliance:
